Terms of Service
Effective November 1, 2026 · Last updated October 27, 2026
In short
- Matchum is run by JMBCORP Ltd. (주식회사 제이엠비코퍼레이션), a company in the Republic of Korea. We sell Korean-made skincare to customers in the United States and ship it from Seoul.
- Prices are in US dollars. Shipping and import duties are shown and paid at checkout, so there is nothing to pay at delivery.
- You can cancel before an order ships. Damaged or wrong items: we replace or refund. Unopened products can be returned within 30 days.
- Consultations explain ingredients and routines. They are not medical advice. For persistent, painful or spreading symptoms, see a dermatologist.
- Questions or a problem with an order: Contact us or email help@trymatchum.com.
1. Who we are and these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and JMBCORP Ltd. (주식회사 제이엠비코퍼레이션) (“Matchum”, “we”, “us”), which operates trymatchum.com and the Matchum services (the “Service”). Our business details are in the site footer and on the Contact us page.
By using the Service or placing an order you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
These Terms are shown on this page at all times, and you can save or print them. If a term here is unclear, it is read in the way more favorable to you, as Korean law on standardized terms requires.
2. Who can use Matchum
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account or buy. The Service is for personal use; please don't buy to resell.
We currently ship to the 50 US states and Washington, DC. We don't ship to US territories, military (APO/FPO) or international addresses yet.
3. Your account
You can shop as a guest or create an account with email and password, Google or Apple. Keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think someone else used your account. Give accurate information, especially your email and shipping address.
You can close your account anytime in Your Privacy Choices. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms (for example fraud, abuse of promotions or attacks on the Service), and we will tell you why unless the law or an investigation prevents it.
4. Skin consultations and recommendations
Matchum suggests Korean skincare routines from what you tell us, using rules from our ingredient knowledge base and an AI model that writes the conversation. Products are chosen only from our catalog, and each pick comes with the reason.
- Recommendations are general cosmetic guidance. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and they don't replace a doctor or dermatologist.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, use prescription skin treatments, or have a skin condition, check with your doctor before using new products. Patch test each new product.
- Stop using a product that irritates your skin. See a doctor for severe, persistent or spreading symptoms.
- We don't sell sunscreen. Use your own broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every morning.
- Answers can be incomplete or wrong. Check the full ingredient list on each product page, especially for allergies.
What you share in a consultation is consumer health data. How we handle it, and that we store it only with your consent, is in the Privacy Policy.
5. Products and information
Products are made in Korea and bought from the brands or their authorized distributors. We describe each product, its full ingredient list (in label order) and its key ingredients as accurately as we can. Packaging can differ from photos, and brands sometimes change formulas; the label on the product you receive is the one that applies.
Our descriptions are cosmetic claims only. We don't claim that any product treats, cures or prevents a disease. Reviews and ratings are from customers and are moderated for spam and abuse, not for opinion.
6. Orders, prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars. Before you pay, checkout shows the products, any discount, points, shipping, and import duties and taxes, and the total. That total is what you pay.
- Your order is an offer to buy. We send an order confirmation when payment succeeds; the contract is formed then. We may decline or cancel an order (with a full refund) if an item is out of stock, a price was clearly wrong, or we suspect fraud, and we'll tell you promptly.
- Payments are processed by PayPal. We don't see or store your full card number.
- Import duties and taxes for your parcel are collected at checkout and paid for you. If a carrier ever asks you for duties or fees on a Matchum order, don't pay; Contact us and we'll sort it out.
7. Shipping and delivery
Orders ship from Seoul with tracking. Delivery estimates shown at checkout and on Shipping, returns and help are estimates, not guarantees; customs can add time. Risk of loss passes to you when the parcel is delivered to the address you gave. If a tracked parcel is lost in transit, we replace or refund it.
8. Cancellations, returns and refunds
- Before shipping: cancel from My page (or Contact us for guest orders). We refund the full amount.
- Damaged, defective or wrong items: tell us with a photo within 30 days of delivery (or within 30 days of when you noticed, up to 3 months after delivery). We send a replacement or refund, including shipping and duties. You don't need to send it back unless we ask, and if we do, we pay for it.
- Change of mind: you can return unopened products within 30 days of delivery. Return shipping to Korea is at your cost; we refund the product price once the return arrives.
- Opened products can't be returned for a change of mind, because opening a cosmetic for hygiene reasons makes it unsellable. This doesn't limit your rights for damaged, defective or wrong items.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method within 3 business days after we receive a return or approve a claim. Your bank or PayPal may take longer to show it.
These rights are at least as generous as the 7-day withdrawal right under the Korean E-Commerce Act, and they don't reduce any right you have under the law where you live.
9. Points, coupons and promotions
Points and coupons have no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and expire as shown in your account. Each coupon or promotion has its own conditions, shown where you use it. We may cancel points or coupons gained by fraud, duplicate accounts or errors. If an order is refunded, points and coupons used or earned on it are adjusted.
10. Reviews and what you post
Reviews must be your own honest experience of a product you used. Don't post personal or medical details, details of others, unlawful content, ads or spam. Photos should show the product or its texture; leave faces and anything personal out. If you received a product free or at a discount, your review says so, as US FTC rules require; rewards never depend on your rating.
We check reviews before they're published, for these rules only, never for opinion. If we don't publish one, we tell you why in your account, and you can edit it and send it again. If you edit a published review, it stays up while we look at it again; new photos show after that look.
You keep ownership of your review. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to show, translate and adapt it on the Service for as long as it stays published. We use your review text in our marketing only as it appears on the Service, and your photos outside the Service only if you agree. You can edit or remove your review anytime in your account. Points you received for a review stay yours when you remove it. A purchase whose review was published or rewarded can't be reviewed again.
11. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no scraping or bulk downloading, automated orders, reverse engineering, attempts to get around security or rate limits, attempts to make the consultation give unsafe or medical instructions, or use that breaks the law or others' rights.
12. Our content
The Service, including text, ingredient explanations, routines, design and software, belongs to us or our licensors. Brand names and product images belong to their owners. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial shopping.
13. Warranties and liability
We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Beyond what the law requires, we don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a product will suit your skin.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for a claim about an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for product liability, or any other liability or consumer right that the law (including Korean law and the law of your US state) doesn't allow us to limit.
14. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may update these Terms. We post changes here with the effective date at least 7 days before they apply, or at least 30 days before for changes that are less favorable to you, and we email account holders about important changes. Orders placed before a change follow the Terms in force when you ordered. If you don't agree with a change, you can stop using the Service and close your account.
15. Governing law and disputes
Please Contact us first; most issues are solved quickly by email. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Otherwise, the Seoul Central District Court has jurisdiction.
Customers in Korea may also ask the Korea Consumer Agency (kca.go.kr) or the E-Commerce Mediation Committee (ecmc.or.kr) to mediate.
